Personality: a characterisic patern of thinking, feeling, and behaving that is unique to each individual, and remains relaively consistent over ime and situaions. Idiographic approach: focused on created detailed descripions of a speciic person"s unique personality characterisics. Nomotheic approach: examine personality in large groups of people, with the aim of making generalizaions about personality structure. Personality trait: describes a person"s habitual paterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Factor analysis: used to group items that people respond to similarly. Hexaco model of personality: a six-factor theory that adds one addiional factor: honesty- High hhs are more likely to perform altruisic acions, and are sincere, honest, faithful and modest. State: a temporary physical or psychological engagement that inluences behaviour. Reciprocal determinism: behaviour, internal (personal) factors, and external (situaional) factors interact to determine one another, and that our personaliies are based on interacions among these three aspects (bandura) Behaviourist account of personality: personality is an expression of relaionships between behaviour, rewards, and punishment.
