Document Summary

Chapter 2 y fundamental aspect of behaviour modification is measuring the behaviour that is targeted for change y measurement of the target behaviour is called behavioural assessment y. Interobserver agreement/reliability: when two people independently observe the same behaviour and both record that the behaviour occurred. observer observes the client continuously throughout the observation period and records each occurance of the behaviour. observer must be able to identify the onset and offset of each instance of the behaviour. In continuous recording, the observer can record various dimensions of the target behaviour, particularly its frequency, duration, intensity and latency. frequency: number of times the behaviour occurs in an observation period. frequency may be reported as rate (frequency divided by the time of the observation period) duration: total amount of time occupied by the behaviour from start to finish. real-time recording method: the exact time of each onset and offset of the target behaviour is recorded.
