PSYB45H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 12-14: Reinforcement, Playtime, Classical Conditioning
Document Summary
Differential reinforcement schedules /procedures- schedules that reinforce specific rates of responding: reinforce high or low response rates. Increased and maintain operant behaviour- positive reinforcement, shaping, fading, chaining, stimulus discrimination training, generalization, schedules of reinforcement. Decrease operant behaviour- operant extinction, punishment, antecedent control procedures, differential reinforcement procedures. Max. number of responses can be specified for entire session or for separate intervals throughout session. Useful when behaviour to be reduced is desirable only if not occur at too high a rate over again. Target response before interval passed caused timing of interval to start. Rather than leave behaviour to chance or unknown factors, specify incompatible response that is to be reinforced in eliminating a particular target response. Incompatible response- response that cannot be emitted at the same time as the target response. Differential reinforcement of incompatible (dri) - decrease target response by withholding reinforces and by reinforcing incompatible response i. e. driving with alcohol consumption.
