Document Summary

Acp are also called antecedent manipulations, antecedent stimuli are manipulated to evoke desirable behaviors so that they can be differentially reinforced and to decrease undesirable behaviors that interfere with the desirable behaviors. Acp procedures involve manipulating some aspect of the physical or social environment to evoke a desired response or to make a competing, undesirable behavior less likely. Presenting the discriminative stimulus (sd) or cues for the desired behavior: one reason tht a desirable behavior may not occur often is tht the discriminative stimuli (sds) for the behavior aren"t present in the person"s environment. Ex: the sd for eating healthful foods is the presence of healthful foods in the kitchen or the person"s lunch bag. If unhealthy foods aren"t present, the person will be less likely to eat such foods. Arranging establishing operations for the desirable behavior: eo is an envrnmntl event or biological condition tht changes the value of a stimulus as a reinforcer.
