Behaviour is anything person says or does; muscular, glandular, or electrical acivity of an organism. Overt behaviour refer to visible behaviours that are easily observed and recorded by others. Covert behaviour refer to internal, private aciviies that can"t be easily observed by others. Doesn"t necessarily mean behaviour is conducted in a private seing. Dimensions of behaviour refer to characterisics of behaviour that can be measured. Duraion = length of ime that behaviour lasts. Frequency = number of instances that a behaviour occurs in a given period of ime. Intensity/force = physical efort or energy involved in emiing a behaviour. Product of behaviour should be difereniated from the actual behaviour. Someimes, a word labels human"s acions, but doesn"t refer to speciic behaviours. Ex: a nervous person = he chews his ingernails frequently. Summary labels may lead to pseudo-explanaions of behaviour which have negaive consequences. Pseudo-explanaions refer to circular reasoning and false explanaion.
