Document Summary

Behaviour anything a person says or does; any muscular, glandular, or electrical activity of an organism; synonyms are activity, action, performance, responding, response, reaction. Getting an a is not a behaviour, it is a product of the behaviour of studying e ectively. Overt (visible by others) and covert (not readily observed by others, don"t have to be done in private and aren"t secretive, can just be thinking of falling before skating) behaviours; both are in uenced by behaviour modi cation. Thinking in words is private self-talk but you can also think by imagining these are both covert behaviours but also called cognitive behaviours. We use summary labels such as honest, carefree, nervous, etc. for human actions but that doesn"t tell us the speci c behaviour; e. g. if you call someone nervous, we know they"re nervous but not that they chew their nails.
