Whites see black culture in the us as promoting values that are at odds w the protestant work ethic. & its believed, that indivs enduring attitudes toward the outgroup it may be possible to change (-) chronic outgroup affect toward the outgroup by the opposing impact of (+) episodic outgroup affect. More likely to use stereotypes in their judgments of others. Effects of negative affect angry paticipants tended to mke more stereotypic judgments: whereas participants who were sad did not differ from neutral- affected participants in their use of stereotypes. Anger bc these are most likely to occur naturally in the intergroup context.
