!- neuropsychological assessment involves intensive study of behaviour by means of interviews. & standardized tests & questionnaires that provide precise & sensitive indices of neuropsychological functioning ! Measuring in a quantitative standardized fashion of behaviour! solving, judgment, planning, & emotional processing ! Attention, perception, memory, reasoning, speech & lang, building & drawing, problem. *distinct: the conceptual frame of reference that takes brain function as it"s point of departure. A behavioural study is neuropsychological as long as the questions that prompt it relates to brain function! Ndings are interpreted in clinical context of patient"s presentation & historical, psychosocial, & diagnostic info ! Generalizability of data obtained by techniques restricted as patients undergoing techniques typically have damaged/diseased brains & could prompt reorganization of function ! Structured nature of most medical & neuropsychological exams do not prove opportunity for subtle emotional & control de cits to become evidence ! And lesions always interrupt all 3 systems !
