Nicotine is the central psychoactive in tobacco. When tobacco is chewed or smoked, tar (small nicotine-particles) and other tobacco chemicals enter the body. Cigarettes are the most commonly used tobacco product. Depending on the size and blend of tobacco, a cigarette contains 1-2 mg of nicotine. Cigars vary in dimeter, length, and nicotine content they contain more nicotine mg than cigarettes. Smokeless tobacco products consist of any tobacco form intended for absorption in the mouth: e. g.
