Hobbes was the first theorist to view people as responsible for the society they created. He believed people had the responsibility and power to overthrow a corrupt government. He argued that god was responsible for emergence of society and government. He also believed people were born as tabula rasa, meaning blank state: suggesting that there can be no knowledge of independent of experience.
