Race: a group of people who were physically and genetically distinguished from other grou. These differences were evident in skin colour, hair texture, and facial features. European populations were white (caucasoid) and people from africa were black from asia were generally yellow (monogoloid) Assignment of people to racial categories is a function of social construction. Social scientists today believe that what most people call race is more than western colon ethnocentrism. Concepts such as biracial, multiracial and racially hybrid further challenge the histor purity because it does not exist in contemporary society. Du bois was one of the first to systematically review natural and social scientific res that the concept of race was not scientific. Argued that differences in health between american blacks and whites was the resu biological inequality.
