Stanford Rape Case - Brock Turner – convicted sexually assaulting unconscious woman, released after six-month sentence - statement by victim: - you don’t know me, but you’ve been inside me th - jan. 17 – decided to go out with sister, drank liquor too fast - blacked out – was in gurney in hallway, deputy said I had been assaulted - went to bathroom, couldn’t find underwear, remember feeling of touching skin and grabbing nothing - then felt pine needles in hair - went room to room leaving trail of pine needles, asked to sign papers that said rape victim - cloths confiscated - multiple swabs inserted into vagina/anus, needles for shots, pills had a Nikon pointed right in my spread legs, long pointed beaks inside me, vagina smeared with cold, blue paint to check for abrasions - went to shower, didn’t want body anymore, thought it was contaminated - met up with sister, she was crying, boyfriend called to check up on me - tried to keep it to myself, drove to secluded places to scream - in article about sexual assault, at the end said “he’s really good at swimming” – tries to cancel out all the sickening things that happened - Brock Turner – he said I thought he liked it because I rubbed his back, never mentioned me voicing consent - thought no way this is going to trial, due to evidence witnesses and etc., thought he was going to settle, apologize and both move on - instead hired P.I’s, powerful attorney, expert witnesses to find details about my life to invalidate both me and my sister - had to prepare incase we didn’t win (case) - attorney constantly reminded jury- only one we can believe is brock, because she doesn’t remember - asked questions “How old are you? How much do you weigh? What did you eat that day? Well what did you have for dinner? Who made dinner? Did you drink with dinner? No, not even water? When did you drink? How much did you drink? What container did you drink out of? Who gave you the drink? How much do you usually drink? Who dropped you off at this party?” and etc., instead - to show her “facts” didn’t line up and to try and prove she was an alcoholic who wanted to hook up - brock turner said every was consented, she argues why he ran when caught - drinking alcohol should not be an excuse although it is a factor - I have to sleep with light on now, I have nightmares, I sleep at 6 in morning now cause it’s the only time I feel safe to sleep - used to pride myself on independence, now afraid of being alone - took 8 months to talk about what happened, would scream at others (boyfriend, family) whenever they bought it up, whenever article about this comes out, became paranoid that everyone can read details about what happened - you can pay back tangible bills, but not the amount of sleepless nights, experience, and etc., - stress = weight loss, have to tell people I have been running - have to relearn I’m not fragile - can take the pain you inflicted on me, but can’t deal with how it affected her little sister (she feels guilt) - you should have never done this to me, secondly you should have never made me fight so lo
