Reveals that drugs that fail lipinski criteria have distribuions of drug likeness. Went on to show that qed approach is beter than the lipinski rule. Proteins whose ligands had the highest qed score should be the most chemically tractable targets for drug discovery. 50% of all medicines on the market are derived from natural products secondary metabolites which are molecules produced by living organisms for a variety of funcions such as defense against predators. Some of the most potent leads for new drugs are found in lowliest organisms such as bacteria and fungi (these organisms are constantly engaged in chemical warfare with muliple other pathogens from their environment)
