Focus on the present, rather than dwelling in the past or daydreaming about a perfect future. Personality is the result of people struggling to overcome the negativity that looms in their unconscious mind. Personality and behaviour are shaped by forces in the unconscious. We have little insight into reasons for our own behavior. Conscious mind: current awareness, everything you are aware of. Unconscious mind: inaccessible part of the consciousness, influences and guides your behaviour without you knowing; primary driver of our behavior. Freudian slip=leads you to say the thing you were actually thinking; offers a glimpse to the inaccessible.
