Document Summary

Learning involves a relatively permanent change in one"s mental processes or behavior that is a function of interactions with the environment. Every time you learn something new your brain forms neural connections, which are related to cellular changes within you brain: neurons that re together wire together. To help solidify new knowledge it is important to think about it and further process the idea by relating it to other existing concepts and ideas. Learning is not considered to have occurred if it is the result of processes such as maturation, development, or behavioral changes cause by injury or drugs. Innate/inborn abilities which do not require learning are referred to as re exes: re exes usually have a survival value associated with them. Pavlov studied digestive system of animals and noticed that dogs started salivating (digestive processes begun) every time he put on his lab coat.
