Rely on objectivity rather than subjectivity (conclusion reflects personal views) Hit or miss: make conclusion only based on the people and environment around us. The tendency to notice memories and information that prove your beliefs rather than evidences that contradict them. According to scientific research: man talks more than women. The ability to think independently, clearly, and rationally. Sets of facts and relationships between facts that are used to explain and predict future phenomenon. Testable predictions -------- systematic observation (experimental or nonexperimental) ------ theoretical hypothesis (confirmation) Type of inference, educated guess, based on prior evidence and logic. It can never be proven to be true, they can only prove it wrong. Link concrete variables and then generate reasonable predictions. Evaluation is done by summitting it to conference and undergo peer review.
