Deindividuation: a concept in social psychology regarding the loosening of social norms in groups. Conformity: when we are in a group, we always follow the group norm: the power of groups, cultural pressures, fear of deviance, commitment: smaller group drives more commitment, group unanimity, size and expertise, susceptibility to interpersonal influence. Application of conformity in marketing: most of the chinese people like the color red. China, there are more red cars than in the us. Maybe not all the people like red, but since the majority norm is to like red, you make choose red too. Ads application: 50 millions of americans are doing this. Lines outside stores (i. e. coach) at the outlet: a lot of people lining up outside the coach outlet makes you want to get in too (because you unconsciously follow the majority decision) Then, i will introduce products to my friend to buy from me.
