Semantic memory: pairs is the capital of the france, and the time you went there is a episodic memory. Episodic memory tied to a specific episode, and specific context. Episodic memory: enable us to travel back in time. Tulving believes that human are the only one that able to do this. The context, spatial context, temporal context is very important, You remember the person but don t know where you saw this person is not episodic memory. (simply knowing someone is not episodic memory) Self knowledge, you have to have the representation of yourself, and you have to have the ability to related events to yourself. The self knowledge is the unique part about us. Semantic does not require the information about yourself. The context is very important, can you tied to a specific context. It is not tied to the episode but it is about the context. We only remember some, and not accurate sometimes.
