Consistency between customer priorities that competitive strategy hopes to satisfy and supply chain capabilities that supply chain strategy hopes to build. Each functional strategy must support the other functional strategies to help firm reach overall competitive strategy. Different functions in company must appropriately structure processes and resources to execute strategies successfully. Tradeoff between cost or responsiveness to customers: achieve strategic fit, cannot have mismatch between customer desires and supply chain capabilties.
