Env 200 chapter 2  Pop density= # of ppl within an area o Larger organism =lower pop densely this is b/c larger organisms require more resource/areas to live in o Zero pop growth = state in which population remains the same size b/c birthrate= death rate (they’re the same)  Demographics =info on the population of countries  Infant mortality rates = # of death of infants under age per 1000 live births  Replacement – level fertility = # of children a couple must produce to replace themselves which would be 2.1 or more  Total fertility rate= # of kids born to each women o Reason for total fertility increase= infant and child mortality rates  For a society to endure it must produce enough children who survive to reproductive age
