Nothing is natural about good manners (eating dinner steak with a knife) they are actually social behaviours that are adapted and accomplishments that take place in a culture. These differ from culture to culture and get transmitted from one generation to the next. We are all products of our society; how we think, act and what we say is shaped by our societal norms. Freedom, determinism, constraint and transformation all help up become who we are. Socialization refers to the lifelong social learning a person undergoes to become a capable member of society. This includes learning about one"s culture and the way they interact with others as well as how they abide by the expectations of the community in which they belong.
