Document Summary
Alienation is defined as the human condition resulting from an absence of fulfilling work. Word alienate refers to an act of separation, or to the transfer of something to a new owner. Marx described alienation to the overall experience of work under effects of capitalist production relations in working class. Workers were alienated from the product of their own work. In bureaucratic hierarchies could have this effect. as now, workers are paid for their labour, wages. work was transformed from a creative, collective activity to individualistic, monetary activity. work itself had became a commodity. Responsibility and duties of each role is largely reduced. workers, instead of human self-fulfillment became a mere market transaction. they could not achieve full potential. they don"t reach the ideal creative human", hence alienating themselves. Alienation is a condition of objective powerlessness. this perspective focused on separation from product, activity of work, coworkers, and oneself.
