(1) attack a core feature of the victim"s id: nothing can do to prevent. (2) negatively impact entire communities: fear for safety. (3) disproportionate harm: exceeds harm inflicted on individuals. Has its goal to intimidate and injure an entire community. Bill c-389: seeks to include both gender identity & gender expression as prohibited grounds for discrimination. Sexual orientation: the identification of individuals as heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual based on their emotional & sexual attractions, relationships, self-id, & lifestyle. Desires can vary over our lifetimes. Encourages the assumption that all people in a given id category share identical desires.
