HIVAIDS Stigma and Religiosity Among African American Women Ethnic minorities in the United States are disproportionately affected by HIV and has become increasingly apparent among women of color Religion plays an important aspect of African Americans culture especially among women Religious organizations tend to stigmatize groups with HIV due to believe that the disease is a punishment from God which is caused by immoral behaviours And also leaders of faith based organizations justify stigmatization of HIV with biblical verses that states that the wages of sin is death This stigmatization has led to the non disclosure and high prevalence of HIV among African American women than Latinos and whites The central topic of presentation is how religion is a helpful agent in the fight against HIV However
