Once clothes for working men, denim/jeans have taken over the world and it seems everyone is wearing them. Denim embodies casuality and coolness incredibly ubiquitous. The french claim denim to be theirs because of the origin of the world and there are photos from the 1600s of italians wearing something like denim. It first became popular in america, modern denim, in the 50s. Jeans came about due to jacob davis, a tailor, and levi strauss, davis" fabric supplier, and their collaboration. They patented the pants together and they manufactured the world"s first blue jeans in san francisco and sold them to working men; cowboys, men who worked with horses, miners, etc. People wear jeans because they want to be ordinary. 1930s: film stars and fashion lovers started to wearing it. 1953: it was established as a template, if you want to look cool, wear jeans.
