Different psychological disorders are identified and explained throughout this section. Psychological disorder- this is the basis for any disorder looking to be classified under this umbrella. The syndrome must be identified by a significant disturbance in the cognition, behaviour, and/or emotional regulation of an individual to be categorized as a psychological disorder. The medical model, is one method through which psychological disorders are understood, and (cid:449)as i(cid:373)ple(cid:373)e(cid:374)ted (cid:271)(cid:455) (cid:862)refor(cid:373)ers(cid:863) su(cid:272)h as philippe pi(cid:374)el ((cid:1005)(cid:1011)(cid:1008)(cid:1009)-1826). Medical model- this is the concept that diseases, physical and psychological, consist of physical causes that have the potential to be diagnosed, treated, and in most cases cured- this is often achieved in an environment such as a hospital.
