Difficult task condition: put on and take off poor fitting socks and shoes. Audience condition: performed task in front of experimenter who was watching. Incidental audience condition: performed task in front of person not paying attention. Easy task condition: participant were faster with either kind of audience than alone. Difficult task condition: participants were slower with either kind of audience than alone.
