PSYC 3330 Chapter Notes - Chapter 12: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Freudian Slip, Psychodynamics
Document Summary
Psychodynamic psychotherapy has been criticized for several things, including that it is too expensive and too lengthy, that it has very little empirical research to support it, and that it is more religious than scientific. However, it is still used by some psychologists today and it still quite relevant. Free association: technique where therapists ask clients to say whatever comes to mind without censorship; not easy to do. Important to distinguish free association from word association.
