Sun converts over 4 million tonnes of matter into energy every second energy is given off as electromagnetic radiation. Light is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that humans can detect with their eyes. Behaves as a wave as it travels through space but also is composed of photons. Photons are discrete particles or packets of energy. Wavelength of light is inversely proportional to the energy of photons it carries. Electromagnetic spectrum is the range of wavelengths or frequencies of electromagnetic radiation extending from gamma rays to the longest radio waves and including visible light.
