In a cell, a group of enzymes called phosphatases catalyze the removal of phosphate groups from a range of molecules, including proteins. Energy is defined as the capacity to do work. Can exist is chemical, electrical and mechanical. All forms of energy can be grouped into 2 types: kinetic and potential energy. Kinetic energy: the energy possessed by an object because it is in motion. Potential energy: stored energy, the energy an object has because of its position or chemical structure.
