Lifestyle choices/factors: such as diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol and other drugs. Individuals are solely responsible for choosing and changing their own lifestyles. They are rooted in the beliefs of individualism (an ideology that emphasizes importance of individual choice, freedom and self-responsibility) But research shows that social factors are better predictors of health than individual factors like lifestyles: health and ill health are not distributed randomly, but vary due to social and economic factors. A perspective is the mental outlook of a person, which depends on relationships and their point of view. Perspectives can have limits and boundaries, as the bias of perspectives obstructs one from seeing the truth. They are usually more than 2 perspectives; multiple.
