Moderate: a fetus does not have an equal right to life unil it has reached viability; the capacity to survive life outside the womb. Also moderate: a right to life depends on senience, the capacity to experience pleasure and pain. Liberal: individual has a right to life only at birth and thereater: so aborion is morally permissible even in the later stages of pregnancy. All of the above make their claims and arguments about aborion based on moral status, Moral status: property that gives individuals a claim on others, who in turn have o an obligaion to treat these individuals in a certain way. Most inluence: aim to show that the conclusions in arguments presented for or against the pracice do not follow from the premises.
