Because there are not enough medical resources to meet the medical needs of all people, we need a system of rationing our resources to meet these needs as best we can m. Any system of priority regarding how medical resources should be distributed presupposes a theory of distributive justice. Justice: concerns what is due or owed to persons, especially with respect to benefits and burdens.
