It was once thought this was the best survey tactic because: the personal interaction leads to immediate feedback, the ability to explain complicated things, the participant is in a more comfortable environment to answer the questions (their home) Interviews conducted by intercepting mall shoppers (or shoppers in other high- traffic locations) and interviewing them face to face: some malls allow for surveying all the time, and other have banned it all together. A mall survey would probably do the trick. 4: structure of the questionnaire, the extent to which the questionnaire follows a set sequence or order, has pre- determined wording of questions and relies on closed ended (mc) questions. It would be structured if it has all three of these things: highly structured surveys do not need face to face interaction because nothing needs to be exchanged, time available to complete the survey.
