Clinical psychology is the study and treatment of mental disorders (therapy, research of mental disorders and effectiveness of treatment) Cognitive psychology specializes in the study of mental processes, especially from a model that views the mind as an information processor (consciousness, attention, memory, decision making and problem solving: psycholinguistics focuses on the psychology of language. Subfields of psychology: biopsychology/neuroscience: behaviour, hormones, genes, brain processes, effects of evolution, developmental psychology: physical, psychological and social development across the lifespan, parenting styles, experimental psychology: learning, sensory systems, perception and motivational states.
