Document Summary
Learning: a process by which experience produces a relatively enduring change in an organism behaviour or capabilities. Classical conditioning: associating one stimulus with another: classical conditioning: an organism learns to associate 2 stimuli, such that one stimulus comes to produce a response that originally was produced only by the other stimulus, ex. Extinction and spontaneous recovery: eliminating the conditioned response when it is no longer needed. Later knowing that albert had a fear of loud noise, watson would make a lid noise while showing albert the white rat creating an association. The noise scared albert and made him cry. Rienforcer: the outcome (stimulus or event) that increases the frequency of a response. Ex. food pellets would be the rienforcer because they increase the rats frequency of lever pressing. Consequences: determining how to respond: the terms punishment and reinforcement do not refer to the emotional value of the event, positive or negative refers to something being added or taken away.
