Document Summary

Psychology: is the scientific study of behavior of the mind. Clinical psychology is the study of mental disorders. Many clinical psychologists diagnose and treat people with psychological problems in clinics. Cognitive psychology: specializes in the study of mental processes, especially from a model that views the mind as an information processer. They focus on things such as consciousness, attention, memory, decision making and problem solving. How people socialize together, in groups, and the study of impressions and attitudes. Psychology shares a common scientific approach regardless of all the subfields within psychology. Science: is a process which involves systematically gathering and evaluating empirical evidence to answer questions and test beliefs about the natural world. Empirical evidence: is evidence gained through experience and observation, and this includes evidence from manipulating or tinkering around with things and then observing what happens. Observations need to be systematic, and should follow some sort of rules or conditions, so the objective is precise as possible.
