Random assignment: is a method for assigning cases, to groups for the purpose of making comparisons, it is a way to divide or sort of collection of cases into two or more groups. Matching is when you match the characteristics to the cases of each group. Subject: the cases or people used in an experiment. Treatment or independent variable: what the independent variable in experimental research is called. Pretest: measurement of the dependent variable of an experiment prior to treatment. Post test: the measurement of the dependent variable after the treatment. Experiment group: the group in that receives the treatment in experimental research.
