Books, contained reports of original research or collections of research articles. Searching catalogues for keywords (a selection of words relevant to you research). Locating original research articles in books can be difficult because there is no single source listing them. Scholarly journals: this is the primary type of periodical to use for a literature review. One rarely finds them outside of college and university library. Some are specialized - they have only book reviews that provide commentary and evaluations on a book or they contain literature review essays, in which researchers provide a state of field. Abstract: a term with two meanings in lit review: a short summary of a scholarly journal article that usually appears at its beginning and a reference tool for locating scholarly journal articles. Meta-analysis: a quantitative overview of existing evidence in a particular topic. Dissertations: a complete work of original research done by ph. d. students.
