We understand certain things that we cannot achieve ourselves (ex. If you watch it you must be capable of understanding even if you cannot play. Aim of science is to produce knowledge, to explain and understand the world around us. Two sets of criteria determine acceptance or rejection: one set pertains to form or the structure of knowledge, the other is based on evidence on the knowledge it is based on. Bio is concerned with the life processes of plants and animals. Psych is concerned with human and animal behaviour. Sociology is concerned with properties and processes of social groupings. If a question can be observed, then it can be approached scientifically.
