Document Summary

Bimodal does not necessarily mean the same mode is repeated twice. If there are two clusters of data, each having their own prominent peak, then this is bimodal, even if the peaks are not equal. Skewed data is a set that is basically unimodal but way off of being bell shaped. Skewed to the right if the higher values are more spread out than the lower values, and vice versa. A picture that is skewed to the right extends further to the right of the highest peak than the left. Smaller gap between lower quartile and median means that the values in the lower half are somewhat closer together than those in the upper half. If gaps between extremes and quartiles are larger than between the quartiles and the median, this means that values are more tightly clumped in the mid- range than at the ends, and vice versa.
