How new orgs fill niches left open by established orgs and how a variety of new orgs benefit society: 4th perspective is institutionalism. Explains why and how orgs legitimate themselves in the larger environment. And design structures by borrowing ideas from each other. Orgs succeed by striving for independence and autonomy. Amount of dependence is based on: how important the resource is, how much monopoly power the resource controller has.
