Pedophilia: refers to sexual attraction to children who have not yet begun puberty. Diagnostic criteria: over a period of at least 6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviours involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children. The individual has acted on these sexual urges and caused him distress or interpersonal difficulty. Lastly, the person is at least 16 and at least 5 year older than the child. Pedophilia refers to sexual attraction to children by without any related illegal behaviour, distress, or interpersonal difficulties. You can be a pedophile without committing an offense.
