Homeostasis: state of physical, mental balance in which all of the body"s systems funcion smoothly: physiological and psychological equilibrium. Perceived stress adapive response: atempt to restore homeostasis. Alarm phase: homeostasis is disrupted, sympatheic nervous system (sns) prepares for ight or light . Increases heart rate, respiraion, blood sugar, dilates pupils.
