Precontemplation is a stage of change in which individuals do not consider exercise in the next 6 months. Contemplation is a tahe of change in which individuals consider exercising in the next 6 months. Preparation is a stage of change in which individuals have taken small steps toward becoming more physically active. Action is stage of change in which individuals have begun exercising in the past 6 months. Maintenance is a stage of change in which individuals exercise and have done so for more than 6 months. The tm identifies different factors that influence individuals decisions to become more physically active in each stage.
