Quantitative designs can be used to address descriptive, prescriptive and explanatory research problems. Most important part of conducting a quantitative stidy is to make sure it is meaningsul and valuable and you are actually measuring your variables accurately and consistently. Validity: re ect degree to which we have con dence in our conclusions based on the research we conduct. Logical validity: quality of researchers arguments, their application of theory to support the needs for the study, and the appropriate interpretation of results based on data. Construct validity: whether the measures used by researchers assess/test what they intended to measure. Reliability: indicates the measure is consistent and repeatable (important part of construct validity) 5 main research elements that researchers use to distinguish design. Are people in the study assigned to groups. Yes are the people randomly assigned to these group. No is there another group or multiple measures in your study. What types of measures or observations are being used.
