Telomeres get smaller and smaller w each cell replication until eventually they are gone and the cell stops replicating and dies, resulting in aging. Some researches believe if we can protect the telomeres our cells could replicate indefinitely. Researchers unable to compare undamaged and damaged brain of same person and therefore cannot make statements about cause and effect. Produce clear, detailed, 2 dimensional x-ray images of brain or other organs. Can be turned 3d by taking images from multiple angles. Better at detecting problems such as brain diseases or blood abnormalities. Preferred method of identifying many forms of cancer. Faster to administer and useful in emergencies, cheaper. Uses strong magnetic field to produce images of the anatomy and physiology. Computer creates 3d images of the brain or body. Produce clearer images than cat and doesn"t use radiation.
