Empowerment evaluation is an evaluation approach that aims to increase the probability of achieving program success by: providing program stakeholders w tools for assessing their program, mainstreaming evaluation as part of the management of the program/organizations and. Evaluation is most likely to lead to program improvement when a community is empowered to exercise legitimate authority to make decisions that direct the evaluation process. Empowerment evaluators believe evaluation of a program benefits from having stakeholders and staff from variety of levels involved in planning and decision making. Fair, equitable allocation of resources, opportunities, power etc. People tupically know their own problems/are in good position to generate their own solutions. When stakeholders learn to conduct program evaluation they"re in better position to shape and improve their lives and the lives of those in the program.
