Employment: it is a form of work in which a person (an employee) is dependent on and mostly subservient to an employer. A relationship between an employer and an employee involving an exchange of labour power (work) for something of value, such as wagers or benefits. Degree of economic risk: independent contractor gets higher risk of losing money from than employee. But employee don"t usually share directly in profits. Degree to which the worker performs an essential service for an organization: employee is more likely to perform an integral task for an organization; an independent contractor performs a task that is peripheral to the organization"s business. Degree to which the organization provides the necessary tools: independent contractors are more likely to own their own tools, the employee is on the contrary.
