Ethics: principles of right and wrong that individuals use to make choices that guide their behavior. Respect and compassion for all others is the basis of ethical actions. Code of ethics: a collection of principles intended to guide decision-making by members of the organization. Improvements in it have led to legal and ethical concerns. Privacy: the right to be left alone and to be free of unreasonable intrusion. Information privacy: the right to determine when and to what extent, information about you can be gathered and/or communicated to others. Interpretations of privacy definitions which make it difficult to enforce: right to privacy is not absolute. Must be balanced against the needs of society: public"s right to know supersedes the individual"s right of privacy. Advancements in technology blur the line of privacy even further. This leads to companies, which are data aggregators (collect data about people) and create digital dossiers (electronic profile of peoples habits) by profiling.
